Painting Like Vincent: Part Two

First, we watched a video which showed us how to mix oil paints: we spread the first colour downwards until there is a finger space-sized gap between the colours we want to mix, next we spread the second colour upwards.

Then, I mixed the greens for the cucumber, except for the seed colour. Next, using the palette knife, I painted the cucumber skin. Following that, I added some white to the bright green of the flesh, which I painted next. After making the colour for the seeds, I painted them.

The penultimate thing I did was to mix the bright red for the background.

Finally, I painted in the background.
