Painting Like Vincent: Part One

Vincent was a post-impressionist painter meaning he painted objects and gave you a feel of how it looked. He used oil paint. Unlike Monet, Vincent didn’t use colours you would expect: he loved bright colours. He also had a little brother called Theo.

Today, I made a practice sketch of my picture.

My sketch was of two slices of cucumber.

Finally, I drew my sketch in best on canvas board.

Next time, we will be learning how to use oil paints. Then we’ll be doing the painting.
