Method
- Use the compass to draw a big circle on a white piece of card
- Use the protractor to divide it into six equal segments
- Colour the segments in this order: red, blue, green, yellow, orange and violet
- Poke two holes near the middle of the circle
- Thread similar-sized buttons onto both sides and glue them into place
- Bring the thread back through both buttons and the other hole in the card
- Before it dries, make sure that there is enough thread on both sides to make it spin
Observations
When the rainbow spinner spins, the rainbow appears to turn back to white light.
Explanation
This happens because all the colours of light, from the brightest to the darkest, make the colour white. The colours go so fast that the eyes see the colour white.
