The sun slowly rose, shedding light on my hometown. People opened their windows to gaze upon the old clock tower. As the sun continued to rise, the light reflected off the tower’s golden bell onto a mysterious figure.
Fear filled the once cheerful eyes of the townspeople. Even my ten-year-old self knew who this was. The figure with a necklace of shattered cowboy badges riding a black bull was the Bull Bandit.
My father gave me a quick glance before jumping on his horse and charging at the bandit. Knowing what my father wanted me to do, I gathered the other kids and leapt into the oak carriage. The horse trainer took us to another town. I looked back just in time to see my father fall off his horse.

After ten years of hard training, I returned to my hometown as a cowboy. I rode my horse, Lightning, down the dirt roads, looking for the Bull Bandit. Suddenly a familiar sound reached my ears: the sound of the bandit’s bull running through the streets.
‘Come to have your badge stolen, Cowboy?’ asked the bandit as he rode his bull towards me.
‘No. I’ve come to save my town and avenge my father,’ I replied.
The Bull Bandit laughed and asked: ‘Who’s the little cowboy that’s going to fail at his revenge?’
‘Rex Lasso,’ I responded simply.
We both leaned forward, waiting for the other to make the first move. The bandit’s bull charged and Lightning dodged to the side. I kept getting my horse to dodge the bull’s attacks until the bandit was frustrated and his ride was tiring. Knowing this was the best time to catch them off guard, I charged towards them on Lightning. The bull reared up on its hind legs. I threw a lasso. The bull’s hooves came crashing down as Lightning sped away and the lasso tightened. The bandit leapt off the bull as it fell to the ground. My enemy grabbed his pistol, but I quickly whipped it out of his hand with a second lasso before capturing him.
‘Tell me where my father is!’ I demanded.
‘In prison,’ replied the bandit, terrified by the fact that he had been defeated.
I headed to the prison, taking the bandit with me. My father was freed and the bandit took his place.
Now, my father and I continue to protect our peaceful town.
