Giraffe

Today, I have continued last week’s English topic of figurative language. However, I have written a description of the giraffes at Yorkshire Wildlife park instead of a place. I hope you enjoy!

As it eats, the giraffe wonders, ‘Why am I like a diplodocus?’ The giraffe bends its neck to reach the lower leaves, its brown mane covered in sunshine. He wraps his black tongue round the branches, pulling the leaves into its beak. Meanwhile, its cream and brown fur gives way to tan legs and black, rounded hooves. Other than its mane and legs, only the giraffe’s beak and horns are purely brown.
