Dear Mrs Weasley,

Over the last few weeks, I have been studying formal and informal letters. You may send an informal letter to a friend or family member. You may send a formal letter to a school if you are worried about your child’s education. Also, formal letters start with “Dear Miss/Mr/Mrs/Sir” and so on. Formal letters either end in “yours faithfully” or “yours sincerely”. Last week, I wrote a reply to a formal letter from Mrs Weasley to the Dursleys. Here is the letter I wrote:

Dear Mrs Weasley,

I am writing to inform you that Harry can go to see this quidditch and stay at your “house”.

I am only letting him go to this nonsense because of his silly godfather. If his fool of a godfather finds out he did not go to see this quidditch, he will come and turn us into pig-tailed bats!

Also, a brat like Harry will fit right in with you rubbish people.

I hope he is a waste of space.

Yours sincerely,

Vernon Dursley

PS It is hard to find tickets because this quidditch is made to bore you to death.
