Power of the Phoenix

Over the last week, I have developed a narrative poem, a poem telling a story, about a phoenix traveling the world and healing animals. This poem is called Power of the Phoenix and I hope you enjoy it.

Phoenix travels the globe,
Across ocean and land,
Scanning for animals to heal like a probe.

The first stop is the river,
Where Phoenix meets injured toad.
Thought Phoenix, health I must deliver.

As Phoenix cries,
A flaming tear hits toad
And the wound flies.

The desert is the next stop.
Phoenix meets wounded Fennec Fox.
Thought Phoenix, a wound I must pop.

As Phoenix cries,
A flaming tear hits Fennec Fox
And the wound flies.

The next stop is the mountain top,
Where Phoenix meets bleeding Goat.
Thought Phoenix, a wound I must mop.

As Phoenix cries,
A flaming tear hits Goat
And the wound flies.

The next stop is the town,
Where Phoenix meets scratched Racoon.
Thought Phoenix, that wound needs a frown.

As Phoenix cries,
A flaming tear hits Racoon
And the wound flies.

Phoenix is growing old,
But he has a job
That can not be sold.

The next stop is the cave,
Where Phoenix meets scraped bat.
Thought Phoenix, Bat needs a healthy wave.

As Phoenix cries,
A flaming tear hits Bat
And the wound flies.

Suddenly…

Phoenix turns to ash.
Then, Phoenix is reborn
From the ashes in a flash.
