Sprotbrough Flash, River Don and the Canal

Today, we went for a walk from our woods, round Sprotbrough Flash Nature Reserve, River Don and the canal.

From our woods,
Down the road,
Into the nature reserve,
Up the hill,
Through the fields,
Down a narrow path.

Into the nature reserve woods,
Gaze at the distant lake,
Spot a tractor coming up,
Into the side!
Watch the tractor going by.

Follow the muddy and dry path
To the River Don.
Walk along.
Spot mallard pair.
Keep walking.
Spot great crested grebe pair.
Resume walking.
Spot tufted duck pair.

Along the river and canal,
Back to the nature reserve
And back to the woods.
