Potatoes

Today, in science, we learned about potatoes. Then, we planted one.

A potato is planted in the ground and it grows roots. At the end of the roots potatoes, which are a thickened part of the root, start to grow. The potatoes are dug up and the eyes form roots. This is the life cycle of a potato.

The first step to planting a potato is to fill your pot with soil until there is 10 cm of your pot that is not covered in soil.

Now, make a 1 cm deep dip in the middle. Then, put some fertiliser in the dip.

Before finishing filling the pot with soil, put the potato in the dip.

The final step is to water your pot.
