Farm Week

This week, we started our own farm. The first thing that we planted was peppers in grow bags because we were too late to plant them as seeds.

Then, we sowed carrot seeds in tubs and covered them with compost.

Next, we also sowed spring onions and covered them with compost, like we did with the carrots, but we put them in round tubs instead.

On the next day of farming, we sowed more runner beans. We didn’t put canes in because we are using the chair legs as supports. Then, we put some supports in for peas and sowed some seeds. Birds dig in that area, so we put some netting around to protect them.

Afterwards, we sowed broccoli and cabbage and covered them with fleece, to protect them from the birds and to stop butterflies laying their eggs on them.

The last thing that we did outside was sowing spinach, and then covering it with fleece.

Finally, we sowed two different varieties of cucumber, in our biggest greenhouse.
