The Jungle Book
We have been reading the story of The Jungle Book. Firstly, we found pictures of characters and stuck them into a book. Then, I wrote their names down.
This book was written by Rudyard Kipling. We made a timeline about what happened in the years of Rudyard Kipling’s life.

The place that the book is about is called Seeonee. The atlas showed us where Seeonee is.
At the Woods
We made a Venn diagram to show which animals are herbivores, omnivores and carnivores.

The activities that I chose to take to the woods were colouring, a book with all the different birds in and a compass. I also rode my bike.
Maths
I had to write some sentences about three towers, with words that I would use when I’m talking about height. Then, I coloured in some paper pencils. Next, I stuck them in my maths book in order. Finally, I wrote some sentences about the pencils, with some words that I would use when I’m talking about length.

That sounds as if the time out of doors was fun, educational and excercise too. The timeline for Rudyard Kipling’s life puts a good perspective of important events in a famous persons life span. We tend to think of a familiar name or a person in isolation and not of their lifespan and historical events during it, interesting.
