The Jungle Book
This week, we read the last part of chapter one and the last poem in chapter one. In the last part of chapter one, Mowgli scared Shere Khan with the red flower that is actually fire.
We made our own poem about the Seeonee wolf pack hunting sambhur deer. I learnt how to make a cinquain poem. I enjoyed thinking about a really good feature picture to go at the end.
At the Woods
We drew a picture of the shelter and labelled the different parts. Afterwards, we wrote why those materials are good for making the shelter, for example, the plastic roof is waterproof. I learned that different ropes can be made from different materials because we used some rope for keeping the shelter together. I enjoyed describing the different materials.
We took some colouring that we started last time, but the really exciting news about that is that we got it finished. I enjoyed finishing it because it looked beautiful; we used some greens and autumn colours.
Maths
I learned about centimetres and millimetres. My favourite activity was making green, Play Doh snakes with stripes. I learnt how to change centimetres into millimetres.
