7th January to 11th January

We made some delicious apple crumble. We took some to Auntie Christine’s and we had the rest for our pudding.

English

Mummy gave me some sentences to write with ck, k and c at the end of some of the words. Now I know when to put a c or k or team ck at the end of a word.

Sentences

Maths

This week, in maths we finished learning about 2D shapes and are now learning about 3D shapes. We filled in a table, then wrote some sentences about what it showed.

Reading

This week, we have read Dick Whittington, The Lion and the Mouse and Animal Record Breakers. My favourite was Animal Record Breakers because it had a peregrine falcon in it. Peregrine falcons are so cool because they are the fastest diving animal on the planet.

Project

On Monday, we went to the Museum of Childhood because our topic is about toys. We saw some toys that children might have played with in roads when cars weren’t around.

Science

In science, we have written fact sheets about sharks and peregrine falcons. After that, we went to the woods and we copied some footprints that we might find. We will always find dog footprints when we are there because we have a dog called Billy.

  1. Another very interesting week. The variety and thoroughness of each topic and lesson is impressive. I look forward to hearing more about the museum as I used to listen to my father’s stories of when he was a boy playing games, including snobs in the street about 1918/19, so 100 years ago.
