Science
In Science, we had an awesome trip to The Deep. We saw sharks, eels and gentoo penguins. My favourite part was getting a sawfish badge in the shop.
We made an amazing papier-mâché bowl, using newspaper and a mixture of water and plain flour. I painted the bowl in orange and then with red, green and blue for the pattern.
At the woods, we went on a material hunt. Here are some of the things that we found: paper, plastic, wood, ash, rocks, organic, cardboard, metal, glass, soil, fabric and ceramic.
English
In English, I have done the letters l and m in my dictionary now.
Also, we have been learning about the diagraphs ew and eu. I wrote down a list of different words with different letters to make the sound and did a quiz.
Project
We rehearsed the Christmas celebration. I made a programme for the Christmas celebration that shows you what order things go in and who organised the event.
Maths
We’ve been multiplying by 2. Here are some examples:
Reading
The books that we have read this week are Wood, The Good Little Wolf and How the Leopard Got His Spots. My favourite was How the Leopard Got His Spots because I liked how the man gave the leopard his spots, by making fingerprints.
What an exciting week and such interesting work has been achieved too. The material search has brought up a lot of items and must have been challenging to find so many. They could be kept in the papier-mâché pot if it is big enough for so many. Very creative and colourful. The programme for the Christmas Celebration looks very good and clever. I am really looking forward to the event.
