2nd January to 4th January

Walk

On the first day of homeschool, after the holiday, we took Billy for a bit of a muddy walk. During the walk, we stroked some horses; they were soft and beautiful.

Maths

Mummy is teaching me about 2D shapes. I drew around four shapes that are called a pentagon, hexagon, heptagon and octagon.

I made a table showing how many straight edges, how many edges, how many curved edges and how many vertices.

Baking

This week, I made up a recipe that we baked that is called apple and mincemeat pie. The pie was delicious because the mincemeat made the apple taste richer.

English

Mummy drew a ck protector shield. I had to write four words with ck at the end and then I coloured it in. Next, Mummy cut my shield out. After that, she stapled the handle on.

Reading

This week, we didn’t go to the library because on Monday it was still our holiday. But that’s okay because we had plenty of books at home. We have read Rex the Big Dinosaur and Ultimate Dino-pedia. Ultimate Dino-pedia is my favourite because I love dinosaurs and it has more information about them. I found out that the leaf-eating dinosaurs moved around to find more food.

Science

This week, we’ve started learning about animals with backbones. We went around and looked at our pets and all of them had backbones. One of the rules in school is to not watch telly, but we watched some telly because it was about what we are learning. We watched an episode of Wild Kratts that showed us about the Tasmanian devil and I made notes. Then, I made the notes into a piece of writing.

  1. I am doing a catch up on January at home school. The amount and variety of topics covered is incredible and so very interesting. Really so impressed by the amount, improvement and neatness of the written work. So very impressive.
